Our Story

House of Roja is a boutique gallery that celebrates the artwork and stories of four generations of women. Through curated limited-edition art drops, storytelling, and archival projects, House of Roja invites viewers to experience art that is both personal and timeless.

  • Meenakshi "Roja" Jagadisan

    House of Roja is named in memory of Roja Paati, the original artist in the family. Through her intricate embroidery, she transformed sarees into timeless works of art - creating masterpieces to treasure and cherish for generations to come.

  • Lakshmi "Lakki" Krishnamurthy

    Roja’s daughter, Lakki has devoted her life to exploring, researching and reviving pan-Indian art forms. The former Head of Visual Arts at Kalakshetra and a Tagore Fellow, she brings relentless curiosity and craftsmanship to everything she creates.

  • Kavitha Prasad

    Lakki’s daughter, Kavitha is an accomplished artist, architect and educator. She draws from her architectural background to explore the play of light, shade and shadow creating deeply emotive and layered art. Catch her work "Elements" at the Delhi T1 airport terminal.

  • Krithika Prasad

    Kavitha’s daughter, Krithika started House of Roja to share the extraordinary creative legacy of the women in her family with the world. She is on a mission to help people discover, enjoy, and collect art with a story.
